Hi Frosty!
We have alot in common I am a mom and wife and our household is quite busy. Since I am just getting my business going I don't have much "working advice" to give you, but I can say this -- anything worth doing is going to make you nervous and anxious. I have cooked, catered and cheffed in professional kitchens for over 16 years and it is way different then PCing, so don't worry about your background. If you love cooking, and feel you are pretty good with time management you are more then half way there! As far as getting the nerve up to "do it"--- make a business plan, a working time line and don't look back. Best of Luck! Lorrie |

Hi, my name is Teresa and I too am very nervous about 'jumping into' something new. I am at a point in my life where something has got to change. (Government and Politics are driving me crazy!) I am too a mother of three and have no clue of what I'm getting myself into. All I know is I really love to cook southern food and love to try different foods. I have cooked basically all my life, watching both my great grandmother's, my grandmother, mother and many aunts and uncles cook. I've researched and looked in my area for this business venture and think it would be a great opportunity. I want to start small though and work to something larger. I think this forum is a great meeting place to exchange and find great advice from seasoned personal chefs. Hope I can find great friends and great advice. Can anybody tell me if the money that is spent on the videos and cds would be a good investment and how it helped you? Thanks!!!

Welcome Ladies,
Jump in the water's fine. Yes, the investment for the materials and membership is more than worth it! I started out skeptical if I could make a living at doing what I love--cooking! And I can tell you it's a great way to both make money and supply a service to people in need! The cost of starting up this business is minimal as you only need to start with whatever equipment you have in your home kitchen. As your business grows you can invest in addtitional equipment as you feel the need. Attending a seminar and interacting with others while learning the how to do the business of running a business is also a great way to build your confidence and answer a zillion questions. Good luck to each of you, you're gonna have a blast! |
