Hi Fabien,
Thank you for your message and for your interest in the association. This association supports both personal and private chefs, but the training program is specifically for potential PERSONAL chefs. That means chefs who wish to use our training program to assist them in their efforts to open and operate successful businesses of their own. You do not need to travel around the country for training. We actually do offer a live seminar in a different city almost every month, but you do not need to take the live seminar if you wish to use the Home Study program instead. The training options are designed to provide training in the manner best suited for each new member. Some people absorb and retain information by reading, others do not, which is why we offer it both ways. You are able to choose which option best suits your needs. We provide a 100 question written exam and a certificate of completion upon request. The training materials are the source material for the written certification exam through the American Culinary Federation third party accredited professional certification program.
