Hi !! I am 27 and really considering being a PC. I have no formal training, but love to cook more than anything. I figure...why not get paid for what I enjoy doing instead of being miserable in an office every day. Anyway...I am going to order my kit any day now, but just wanted to get some feedback (encouragement) on this whole thing. I will probably start out only cooking on weekends (I want to do this out of my house, but have heard that's probably not the greatest idea) and then go full time with it. Where do most PC's get their containers ? Do you store entrees and sides in one container ? Wouldn't the client need to have ALOT of freezer space if going with a 2 week plan ? Any suggestions would be more than appreciated. Thanks....Jennifer.
Hi Jennifer.... Welcome to a whole new world.Do go through archives because the issue of containeers is really worked over. For myself I combo tin broiler pans for entrees and set up sides in Quart size zip locks, then depending on size of serving store all coresponding entrees and sides in a one gallon ziplock labeled. Personal cheffing is a home based business. Easy ( so to speak) to start and maintain. You get out what you put in to it. Don't need a commerical kitchen to work out of because you are doing the work in the clients home kitchen anything else makes you a caterer.

Hi Jennifer!!!! I'm 28 and I just got my training kit a couple of weeks ago and already things are moving swiftly and I'm having a great time at it. Deffinately go through the archives....do it until your eyes start to cross if you have to (I did!) because there's sooooo much awesome information in there. Good luck and I look forward to seeing you on the member's forum!
