Yesterday I was able to get out & do some garage sale shopping. THere were tons of them in my town. For those of you starting out & building your kits, I highly recommend doing this - especially now that great weather will be here (hopefully).
I found a food processor for $2, some GREAT shabby chic presentation pieces (for those of you who want to do a little catering on the side). I'm doing a baby shower in a couple weeks & the gal who's giving it is very limited on serving pieces so this was right up my alley when I found some "Marthaesque" type of pieces - for 25 cents each. One mans trash is certainly another man's treasure! Have fun!!

Hey Guys,

Here in Big D we find pyrex and corning ware at estate and garage sales. This is excellent for freezer containers. In fact, my aunt found a toy from the 50's worth $700. Way to go.

Good for your auntie! I'm also combing thrift stores for treasures as well. I found a lid to a small corning ware dish that I found at a garage sale last week for only 50 cents. They were having a 50% off sale that day & I got it for a quarter - which brings the grand total for a covered dish to $1.25!! What a deal! This is so much fun - & so doable (that is a word isn't it?)
Fondly,
KarenN
