Any thoughts on what I could be doing while I wait for my training kit to come??? I've been trying to think of a name for my PC business and I keep coming back to The Kitchen Witch. What do you think? I spend a lot of time in my kitchen and I have a kitchen witch hanging in there so I thought it would be nice. Enchanting meals that bring magic to your table...ok so now I'm just babbling. I can't help it, I'm so excited and I just can't wait for my stuff to arrive. I think I'm driving my husband crazy with all of the babbling I've been doing this week. So does anyone have any thoughts on what to do while I (try to) wait patiently???

Kitchen Witch is nice, but something with an "A" gets you first in the yellow pages and any other listing that goes by the alpibete( where's my 10 year old daughter when I need something spelled right) So Maybe A Kitchen Witch... alittle on the negative though "witch" taken as a negitive Icon... I started out with the Dinner Dilemma... people thought that that had a negitive feel. So the supper solution was born. I like the enchanting blurb... Maybe the Enchanted Chef...Stuff you can do while you are waiting..which wont be long... Is check with your local officals about fees, restrictions, taxes for a service business in your area, check into food handlers certification, look around the other PC in your area for a tag along day, Start building a demograghic list for the towns surronding you... Enough for now. Need anymore Ideas let me know... e mail Candy or call to get your stuff for the private forum. Ok I said my piece

When I was waiting, I came up with a bunch of prospective names and then emailed them to a lot of folks I knew and made them vote! I just chose names I knew I could live with and left it to my peers. I like what I ended up with, and thyme leaves and blooms make a pretty design

My name is Mrs. French, so my husband really wanted me to call it "A Family Affair," which as Brian noted would put me right in the front of directories. However, something I have noticed is that if you're thinking a ...certain way...a lot of PCS names could be easily misconstrued! :P

I liked Brian's suggestion for "Enchanted." A hentler name like that might get you a better lead in. Although the kitchen witch would be a really easy logo design. You'd be easy to "brand." (My other company is doing marketing for small businesses--can you tell?)

I would advise you to take this waiting time to develop menus (see other chef sites), seek out potential networking groups so you can talk about your business (Rotary, National Association of Women Business Owners, lead Groups) and probably most important, collect fax numbers or addresses for all the publications in your area so that when you get your act together you can immediately send out press releases announcing the opening of your new business. CONTACT = CUSTOMERS I also gathered fax numbers for potential contacts and I blast fax them once a week (well I am supposed to). Your town probably has a business journal, and that business journal probably publishes an annual "Book of Lists." This should be available at your library. There's your fax list!

Anyway, Good luck! Know what happens when you don't market? Nothing. teehee. Simple isn't it? I was where you are one month ago and I have two clients now. I can't believe how fast this is taking off, but I can tell you that you need to PUSH. Dont hesitate, just take off running.

Chef Jamella.... Thanks for the coment on my web page. The Little Chef Dude came out of my print shop soft ware. The rest of the site was designed with help from my cousin at Dimtech. As with most sites it is still in the working stage, but it is functional. I have found that a web page really important when you are doing the press releases thing, giving potential clients and people researching your business a leg up on you before they call. Also a good looking page really helps you put a professional foot forward. Thanks again for the kudoes. big grin
