Is there any way that I can do a trial login to explore PC Office?

Hi Debbie,

Thanks for your interest in APPCA and the exciting new Personal Chef Office program.
If you have questions, you might want to give our webmaster a call at 800-644-8389.
We actually allowed someone into the software recently to do a "trial login" as a courtesy, and it turned out she was an employee of a competitor who was snaking information from our program for her employer. It was pretty shocking, and it left a bad taste in our mouths. Our Advisory Board voted for no more "trial logins" for non-members.
I'm sure you can understand, and if you give Dennis a call, I'm sure he can answer your questions and help you out.
Thanks for posting!
Candy

Good for you Candy.

No offense should be taken as this is clearly a security issue. I completely support this wise decision. Despite that, allow me to say that this is an outstanding program and a wonderful benefit, of the numerous ones which we already have.

Such an outstanding and State-of-the - Art program developed for our industry. Thank you, once agin.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all. Best wishes. - John

Wow...that's an interesting decision, considering that it's impossible to keep secret something that you are distributing to anyone who joins the APPCA. Another approach might be: "We've got the best product around; come check it out and see just one more benefit of joining the APPCA and having this exclusive client/recipe management software to help your business succeed!" Most software manufacturers do this for that very reason.

Actually, I don't use Menu Magic and haven't for two years because it is a leased program and I'm not going to input all my business/recipe info into a program that I do not own. I'm not a spy or software developer; just a busy personal chef in desperate need of good integrated business and recipe management software. I am simply interested in checking out your software to see what you have available that would streamline my planning time and if it would be a good fit for me and my business.

I read somewhere on your site that some of your members have dual memberships, and that is just what a couple of other PCs and I have been considering. We also appreciate that you are collaborating with the ACF, WCR & IACP, and have a really legitimate & industry-recognized certification process. I'm just stacking up the value in purchasing a membership and the software is a very large factor for me. Maybe you could offer a "guided tour" at the very least if you are not going to allow trials. I just can't invest my hard-earned money in software without a trial "test drive" or at least a "walk-through."

Thank you for your quick response to my request, though! Have a happy and busy holiday season!

Hello Debbie,

Thanks for your interest in this breakthough software for personal chefs which was developed for personal chefs by personal chefs.

Please give me a call at 800-644-8389. I would be happy to walk you though this online version of Personal Chef Office.

We will be offering the desktop version of this product in February. Our desktop Personal Chef Office will be available for sale to ALL personal chefs and culinary professionals to run their businesses. This will include a trial version too.

I look forward to speaking with you.

Best regards,

Dennis

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I don't believe the "Personal Chef Office" (PCO) is a "software product". per se, but an additional membership benefit.

IMHO, APPCA membership offers FAR more benefits than access to PCO, though PCO, for many, is a great tool.

APPCA membership is the key to joining the leaders in the personal and private chef community with access to:
  • professional advancement opportunities (ACF certification)
  • professional business advice and guidance
  • a wealth of experience from practicing professionals
  • information about a variety of tools, techniques, and "best practices" to enhance your opportunities for success
  • an overall framework to guide you in building your business in a manner that works for you rather than a "cookie cutter, one size fits all"
  • a guild of professionals
  • educational seminars to guide you in making your personal chef business accomplish your goals.
PCO is but a single facet of APPCA membership, for some an essential facet, for others simply added value.

John & Pete, I appreciate your testimonials regarding the APPCA. You're preaching to the choir here about lots of extraneous things and I feel that I already have most of them with the USPCA. What I'm really needing from the APPCA might be the business management software.

Dennis, I'll give you a call later today and if you have time, will enjoy talking to you about the software that will be available in February.

Thanks so much, guys!
