As of this afternoon, I have officially joined the ranks of this group & organization. I spoke with both Rusty & Dennis this week who have been very helpful. Dennis, thanks for all the optimization tips!
I'm starting out PT as I own a printing company and will be spending time ramping up my PC business while working on the process of selling the printing company in a few years. Of course, I'll make sure to have a good supply of cards, brochures and other printed material before that happens.
I obtained my degree in 99 from CHIC and have been doing private parties off & on for 10 years. At some point, my husband suggested we try to expand the party business when I came upon your site.
For the past few months, I was working 1 day/week with another PC. He had access to a commercial kitchen and I was able to learn a lot from him.
In Sept., I donated my services for one of our print customers for their charity fund raiser. Last Saturday, was the party for 10. They had 4 appetizers, entree w/veg & starch & 4 desserts. I know you will all say I should have controlled this, but the person who won has a prestigious photography studio in the area and I felt it was worth my time. (BTW, they paid for all the food). It turned out to be a HUGE success. All the guest were asking for cards. We had those, as well as brochures, to hand out. On Sunday, I had an email from the hostess asking for info for weekly service for her family. I emailed the info and am waiting to hear from her when they get back into town.
I guess now I know why the initial posts are so lengthy. I'm looking forward to learning, and hopefully giving back to the community.
Dennis, what is the 'karm' function?
A special "thank" to Carol in Nashville for taking the time to field all my email questions earlier this year. I originally contacted you because you were in WI where I was born and you took classes from Jill Preston, which my mom did as well.
Welcome, Kathy! We're glad to have you aboard! You're going to love it here; please chime in any time if you have questions or input to offer. Consider the APPCA forums your "continuing education."
You are going to be enjoying yourself for quite awhile simply reading all of our different private forums and their seemingly overwhelming and vast knowledge content.
So, grab a glass of wine, sit back and enjoy yourself!
