HI,
thanks for all the excellent info about the live seminar!

As I stated before, I am considering a PC career and one of the concerns I have is what the market is like for a PC, specifically for the area I plan on living in. Is it ethical to ask another personal chef in the area what type of market there is for PC services?

Thanks

Many more quesitons to come!

Dave

Dave - It makes good business sense to do as much market research as possible in your area, including asking other personal chefs what their experience shows. Before I decided to order my training materials and join APCA, I called three personal chefs in my area and asked them a list of questions over the phone. They were all very nice and answered honestly about the good and bad of the business in our area. It was very helpful to me - I suggest you try and set up a couple interviews. Have your list of questions ready and be sensitive to setting up a time that is convenient for them because some personal chefs are very busy!

good luck - keep the questions coming! That's what we're here for...

Definitely reach out to other people in your area. Renee had some great suggestions -- follow them!

I'll add one more thing, since this seems to come up over and over again. Please don't be suprised or offended if folks don't get back to you! We can be really busy. We get calls like yours often. Sometimes it's hard to make time. Sometimes we have good intentions but poor follow-up. Sometimes we've given time to someone in the past and then been burned (theft of materials or the new person agreed to work a function in exchange for some time from the working PC and then blew off the function.) And sometimes our damn e-mail doesn't work or the cat disconnects the answering machine.

No, not ALL of that has happened to me -- I'm drawing on my whole chapter's experience!

So, be patient, try phone if you started with e-mail, then e-mail if you started with phone. And if you want to talk to more folks than you were able to reach, give Candy and the gang at the APCA 800 number -- they may be able to put you in touch with someone else.
