Hi everyone, I haven;t joined yet, but plan on the first chance I have the funds saved. I went to culinary school as an apprentice for three years, and now that I am out, I want to go into personal chefing. I already have someone helping me with the marketing, but I just with I had the money to join this site. Times have never been so tough for me. If it wasn't for finacial aid, I would have never made it out of school. Now that I'm thirty years old, I feel like lifing is kind of passing me by. I have all my knifeware, but not sure I have all the tools I will nees to make it in this buisness on my own. What happens if I need a blender or a food processor? Does the clientle usually have all this? Looking for some moral support!!!

Think Yard Sales.. You'd be suprised what you'll find.
With that in mind I've never had to use either.. I can cut and clean faster with a good knive than I can carring a 20 lbs machine around with me. One of the things your going to learn very fast is what can I leave at home.
I have found, rice cookers, veggie steamers and slow cookers at yard sales as well as some great pots and pans!! But remember weight is a problem, only carry what you need, I am a fine one to talk, I have so much equipment I ended up buying a huge box on wheels, that I carry and leave in my van, now I just dig through it and take out what I need when I get to the clients home!!!
