I am considering attending the Memphis seminar later this month and am seeking references from individuals who have attended this event in the past. What did you learn? Was it helpful in your start-up process? What were the main take aways? Did you have any negative experiences at all? Would you recommend the on-site conference or purchase of the new home study program (which seems to contain the San Diego seminar via DVD). Thanks so much.

Michelle - I certainly hope that some other chef's will jump in here to let you know there true feelings about the benefits of attending one of our seminars.

I can tell you that as an instructor for APPCA, and the instructor scheduled to do the Memphis Seminar, I will work your tail off! You will know that you have attended an intensive two day seminar, and you will have the basics for your business plan in hand by the time we end on Sunday afternoon.

I certainly hope that you will make the decision to attend the Memphis seminar. I guarantee you that it will give your busines a jump start that you cannot get any other way.

Michelle, I've been in the biz for over 4 years now and if it weren't for this seminar I would have been lost. Jim will pump you full of info ...so much it will ooze out of your brain and into your coffee. Nonetheless, it is a fantastic investment to jump start your business and a crucial one if you ask me.
Although I'm right outside of Boston, you will be in good company in Memphis. Hopefully some of our esteem colleagues from that area (that would be you Carol... Wink ) will pop in on Sunday morning and give you personal chef advice and first hand experience into the life of a being a personal chef.

About 5 1/2 years ago I attended a seminar that Jim ran here. Well, I'm still in business and a lot of it had to do with getting started on the right foot.

If you're in the area and serious about starting a personal chef business, the seminar will be a huge help. The taped seminar is great, but there's nothing quite like being able to ask and receive answers to your questions "live."

I'm planning to join the group for dinner Saturday night and will also be there Sunday morning. One other chef that I know of in the area will probably be there Saturday night also.

Please let me know if I can help in any way. Hope to see you there!
