I will attend the Tampa seminar this weekend and as a new Florida resident, I've been looking into the state requirements re personal chef business.
I'm being told that I will have to apply for a cater's license and will have to have a "commissary" -- a commercial kitchen I can use to store ingredients and do prep. This all hinges, apparently, on the fact that I will be shopping and bringing ingredients to the client's home. They say I can have an "assistant" bring the groceries or the client shop themselves (doesn't this defeat part of the purpose of hiring a personal chef?) but if I buy the ingredients I must comply with the above.

Any Fl operating pc's out there who can shed light on this?
thanks
Laurel

Laurel - please hold your questions for the Seminar on Saturday. You simply asked the wrong question of the wrong person. We'll go over all the ins and outs.
