I am SOOOOOOO excited! This is a new adventure and a life long dream for me coming true. My name is Sue Palenske. God has blessed me with three grown children, 7 grandchildren, and a wonderful husband of 28 years. My kids have always teased me about being a Martha Stewart because of my love of cooking crafts, entertaining, event planning, and all the stuff that goes with it... I'm going through my information and am in the process of getting my business going. My goal has been set for Aug 2007, (after I come back from the conference. YEA!!!). Can't wait to meet lots of you there! Bye for now! Chef Suke
Welcome, Sue! It is exciting. I am set to go live in about two weeks, myself. Have fun at the conference and don't forget to use the forums. You will glean a lot of helpful information for starting up your business.
Hi Suke, and welcome to the personal chef industry!
It's great to hear you are enjoying reviewing the APPCA training materials and want you to know that we're here to assist in every aspect of setting up your successful personal chef business.
As you mentioned, we're looking forward to meeting you personally, too, but the APPCA Summit 2007 is being held at Academia Barilla in Parma, Italy in November, not August.
In order to keep the APPCA Summits exciting and original and so that all of the topics we originate, develop and offer each year are not duplicated by other groups as they have been in the past, we have decided to sponsor an international food tour every other year. This trip to Academia Barilla includes specially designed classes for personal chefs and exciting, tasty side tours to a Parma ham facility, balsamic vinegar tour, parmegiano cheese tour, winery tour etc. We're all looking forward to the trip and to being exposed to the tastes and sights of Italy! It'll be a special trip since we are colleagues who are passionate about good food.
Enjoy the start up process of your personal chef business. It's an exciting time, and one of the few opportunities in life to build a business that reflects your culinary skill and also your own preferences. Best wishes, Candy
Your definitely on the right track use the forums it has a wealth of information and all your questions from recipes to pricing can all be answered. Definitely make it a point to get to the conference just being there and getting to see others willing to take the same jump as you into this industry is very infectious and definitely a motivating factor in getting all your paperwork ready to go. Best of luck to ya and don't be hesitant to ask for anything.
Thanks for the welcome Chef Candy, I would surly love to go to Italy , but...I'll have to budget that for the next time. I'm planning on attending the Conference in Philly this Aug. Hope to meet you there!
