Jon-Paul,
I am 27 years old and have been told that I still look 18 (thank god!!). I don't think that age or how old you look has anything to do with your ability to be a good personal chef or how people will view you or your skills. I think what IS evident to clients or prospective clients is your confidence level. People automatically feel confident when they see that YOU feel confident. Trust your skills and know that you are doing what you love to do and what you are good at and you'll be just fine !! ------------------ Jennifer Amicucci Your Kitchen Gourmet Wappingers Falls, NY |

I am 24 years old and I look pretty young. I have had no problem with my age other than other people commenting on how young I am. That doesn't bother me though. I think we are lucky starting this career so young because by the time we are thirty we should have a successful client base and the industry will be well known by then. If that is your worst fear about this business then it is a minor one.

God - quicherbellyakin!!!!! I've got underwear older than you guys (and I still wear it!!!)
Age is not really a factor - it is the level of confidence that you show and the experience that you have that shows the client what you can do. Now if you have no experience, no confidence level and look like you are 18 then you got a hell of a problem. Otherwise, age should not have any bearing on it. ------------------ Jim Davis The Really Good Food Co. A Personal Chef Service |
