2 wonderful women (one is a retired chef and the other is still working in the industry) have spoken highly about Candy Wallace and APPCA. I did some other checking around - and on their recommendation this is where I have made my commitment.
So far they have been friendly, welcoming, helpful, and encouraging - while being very very professional. That makes a big difference! Congratulations on your opening! (Isn't it amazing how our journeys brought us here!) |

Yes, it is amazing how our journeys brought us to this point! After looking over the boards, it seems that many people are from a large variety of backgrounds.

Hi Gwyn,
Thanks for your post and your good question. Yes, it's wonderful to see how diverse the people who make up this exciting new career path really are. I have been saying for years that the beauty of this industry is that no 2 personal chef businesses look alike. Each of them reflects two things: 1) The level of expertise of the owner, and 2) the personal requirements of the owner, so that's what makes it so special. Each of us decides what level of service we intend to offer, and to whom, where to find those clients, and what to do with them when we find them. That's where we at APPCA come in. For the past 12 years we have proudly offered outstanding training materials and live seminars specifically designed to assist aspiring personal chefs to open and operate legitimate, financially successful personal chef businesses, and have so far trained over 6,000 working personal chefs across the country. Life is wonderful! Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can be of help to you, and Happy Holidays! Candy |

Why did I choose APPCA? Part fate, part customer service..okay, a lot customer service. I am presently working in Tampa, FL and called the 1-800 number only to talk to the founder, who lives 4 miles from my house in San Diego! Also, Dennis was in the Navy.. So, if I were looking for a "sign," I had many to choose from. But the bottom line was Candy's personal touch, the time she spent on the phone, and her positive attitude that I could make a living at this.. Clark |
